Ronnie Mdawida

  Ronnie is Kenyan born and raised in Wongonyi village, high in the Taita Taveta Hills of southeastern Kenya.

  Ronnie says, "Having grown in rural Kenya, I know the daily challenges and struggles that rural individuals face on a daily basis. Once the opportunity came to leave my home for a better future, I made my break. However, I utilized this wonderful opportunity to turn my blessing into my passion - helping those less fortunate. In 2006, I received an honorable study abroad placement in Canada, spending a year learning a great deal about Canadian life. Following my stay in Canada, my hosts and I launched an NGO, aptly named The Ronnie Fund (

The ongoing goal is to provide numerous forms of support for Ronnie's home village of Wongonyi, as well as villages throughout Kenya. Along with the Ronnie Fund, he is currently overseeing a subsidiary of Komos SoIutions International, Explore Kibera (,Explore Eastlands ( an initiative that focuses on creating employment for Kibera and Mathare youths.

In Business as Co-director of Mdawida Limited he seeks to add value to individuals and communities through employement creation, and alternative thinking.

Serah Mucha Mdawida

  Serah is also born and raised in Kenya on a farm located near the outskirts of Nairobi. She has worked for the last eight years in an NGO where she started as a training coordinator and rose to a Grants and Public relations Manager. She is passionate about development issues in rural communities and how that plays into the global issues.

Currently she is Public Relations Officer for Kosmos Solutions International, The Ronnie Mdawida Fund and Co-director of Mdawida Limited which seeks to add value to the lives of individuals and communities.

The Mdawida household is rounded out with sons Julius, age 15, baby William, age 8 and baby Junior 5 years old. They are dynamic, enjoy meeting new people, and are the loves of our life.
